I'm on the bleedin edge - literally

Currently connected at 9.6Kbps over CSD, just about getting mail in, not bothering to do much else as no point, you've got to love the productivity this creates for a mostly nomadic worker though.

On a related point it does make you much more critical of application demands, it's so easy to have stuff pouring at you on a 3Meg link but switch that machine to a connection like this and you realise that having everything set to default to offline, don't connect is actually a good thing, mind you it's been 5 minutes and still 0% on Outlook so maybe I'll give up and not actually do any mail other than the offline stuff I've already got.

I'm quite getting used to the 'Camel' mode of working, fill up before heading out to the desert cos you never know when next you'll get a refill. I could of course use the public wifi point but I am only here for a few minutes and can't be bothered, the whole point is I want to be able to quickly get mail and move on, not buy 1 hour or whatever of access and I used to be able to do that nicely with the M5000 but I had to give that back and I also had to be subjected to an indirect telling off about using roaming data so I decided to give it all up, why live the dream if your cost centre doesn't approve.....

I could claim to be compliant with the new Brand values since we are encouraging our users to Turn Off occasionally but that would be sly and not strictly true !

update: couldn't even post this small entry, socket not found !

1st Dec 06:50, another update, went to add a photo I took yesterday that is very relevant to this post and found that all that was on my blog was the title ! Another side effect of remote / offline working I see ! anyway after all my rambling above I was welcomed at CDG airport by this poster which made me smile
