I'm sure there will be more of these as I progress with my 'conversion' but I think it's useful (to me) to document the process at least. Most of what I write will be viewed by those that already have a Mac as "Well of course it does!" type stuff but it's ALL new to me!
So far I'm very impressed with the "it just works" aspect of some things, mainly anything I try plugging in to it, unlike my PC no drivers required so far and this includes the Microsoft bluetooth keyboard and mouse ( I like the process of going out of range with a nice onscreen 'connection lost' message but more so the auto discovery back again), my Sony T9 was picked up as 'NO NAME' but the photos imported seamlessly to iPhoto and just now I plugged a DVI monitor cable to it and it woke up from sleep straight away ( I do like the ease of sleeping/waking it does!)
Had a bit of trouble with getting xvid stuff to work (Mac Word decided it wanted to open the .sit file) but sorted in the end, dissapointed to see that I have to buy Quicktime Pro to view fullscreen, that really sucks as I've avoided PRO for years on the PC platform but I think I really want fullscreen here, will check out VLC
Intersting new Last.fm app for Mac (and possibly for PC as haven;t checked for a while *update, so they have, missed all that..) when I went for the plugin, I like that too in that it makes interaction with the service easy, need to play with it more though
That's it for now, still liking it but will need to buy a mac keyboard it seems
